County Coordinator My name is Joe Markovich. I am the county coordinator for the CAGenWeb Orange County web site. If you would like to host a CAGenWeb County site or assist the project in any other way, please contact the California State Coordinator Martha Crosley Graham. The Orange county site is among 3 other county sites in which I am the coordinator. The map on the left shows the county locations within the state and the proximity to each other. Orange county is shown in red and is located in the Southern part of the state. The other counties which I am the coordinator is Fresno county shown shown in green and Kings county shown in the blue. |
Site Navigation
The main site navigation is through the tree on the left hand of the screen. The tree is arranged by topics and sub-topics. Sub-topics are accessible by clicking on any topic that has a + sign next to it. Alternately, each page of this web site contains a navigation box on the bottom. The site can be scrolled through one page at a time or directly scrolled to the last page and then back to the very first page. The total number of pages, called articles, in the Orange county site are also shown in the navigation box.
CAGenWeb Project
In March and April 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties within the State of Kentucky where collected databases would be stored. Furthermore, the databases would be indexed and cross-referenced, so that even if an individual was found in more than one county, he or she could be located in the central index. This project is an outgrowth of that original project. The first California USGenWeb Project page was loaded onto the Internet on July 16, 1996
